The Rustenburg Local Municipality would like to notify residents of the current power outage in parts of Rustenburg.
The outage is due to a blown part of the substation at Motor City. The technical team from our electricity unit has been deployed to the substation and currently working on the problem. Once a detailed assessment of the damage has been completed, restoration of the electricity supply to the affected areas will commence.
Affected areas include Waterkloof Ext 11, Honeydew Estate, Summer Breeze, Grasslands Estate, Spring Fields Estate, Cashan Extension, Safari Tuine, Hex River Lifestyle Estate and part of Waterfall Mall.
Residents are therefore advised to exercise patience until the problem has been fully resolved.
NB: All electrical points should be considered live, as a result of this outage.

Kindly note Geelhout outlet valve water supply will be opened 5am tomorrow morning to allow reservoir levels to build up.
For the next 3 days Geelhout reservoir will be opened at 5am to 8pm every day.  During this time community is urged to save water and use water efficiently.
The community affected will be the Geelhout Ext 6 and part of Tlhabane West.

Vehicle Registering Authority Offices offline
Kindly be notified that the e-Natis system is currently offline at our Registering Authority offices opposite Ferncrest Hospital in Tlhabane. As a result, all services are interrupted there. Our Technicians are currently attending to the matter with the objective to restoring services as soon as possible. However, our satellite offices in Kock street and Robega Regional Community are operational.

Water supply interruption at Boitekong
Kindly be notified that the Greater Boitekong area, including its extensions, are experiencing water supply interruption due to a damaged pipe.
Technicians are currently on site repairing the damaged pipe. It is anticipated that repairs would be completed by this afternoon. In the meantime, water tankers have been dispatched to supply water to residents.

Traffic Registering Authority Office remains not operational – relocation
Kindly be notified that our Traffic Registering Authority office, opposite Ferncrest Hospital in Tlhabane, remains not operational, following the burglary that occurred there on the 9th June 2017. Police investigations and structural repairs continue.
To mitigate the situation in the meantime, the services of motor vehicle registering authority will be relocated temporarily to the Provincial Traffic Office in Kock Street, behind Rustenburg Square Complex, until further notice once police investigations and repairs at our offices are completed.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS (Electricity outage)

Kindly be notified that we are currently experiencing electricity outage in most areas of our Municipality, due to an unforeseen circumstance, namely; an explosion on one of our transformers this morning, leading to multiple trips at the Eskom Sub-station.
Our Technicians are currently busy at the Sub-station, trying to restore power as soon as possible. However, given the complexity of the situation, it is anticipated that it may take a while to restore power in most parts of the city and its environs, about a day or two in some areas, as a new transformer is being installed.
