Emergency Switch Off

Residents are hereby notified that the electrical department will implement an emergency switch off at the Amie Coetzee Substation today, to enable repairs on the Switchgear equipment from 12:00 PM – 18: 00 this evening.


The areas located to the streets below will be affected:



Beyers Naude

Kerk Streets

(Police Station Block).


Please note that during repairs, loads will be switched off one at a time to minimize power supply disruptions.

Residents are hereby notified that the Municipality has implemented a new billing system effective 01stJuly 2019. However, some system functions will only be operational from the 15thJuly 2019. This is due to opening balances migration process from the old system after completion of the June 2019 billing cycle.
System functions which will be will not be operational until the 15thof July 2019 include:
Accessibility of latest Clearances figures
Refunds on completed Property Transfers
Property Transfers
Corrections to accounts
Residents are advised that Clearance certificates for payments completed in the previous financial year will be issued.

Manual Registration at Landfill Site Due to Damage on Equipment

Residents and Businesses transacting at Waterval Landfill hereby informed that following the heavy downpours yesterday, the weigh out scale was unfortunately struck by the lightning and as a result few load cells on the weigh in scale were also affected. Consequently, we are unable to capture the volumes of waste or charge users electronically. Waste Management Unit is currently resolving the problem.
The Municipality apologizes to the users of the site for any inconvenience this may cause.


Residents are hereby notified that there will be a planned power outage requested by Eskom to execute electrical repairs as follows:

Also note that there will be risk of total shut down of power supply to the entire Rustenburg area. This is due to the total loads that will be supplied from the Industries Sub-Station.
