The Rustenburg Local Municipality’s Safe and Clean City Campaign

The Rustenburg Local Municipality’s Safe and Clean City Campaign in full swing this evening, with an operation geared towards law enforcement in the city and adjacent areas, to ensure compliance with municipal bylaws.
The municipality has had similar successful operations since the inception of the campaign a few years ago, recording positive impact in reducing crime levels and improving compliance.

Residents Urged to Register and Update Account Details for Receipt of Statement of Accounts

Residents are hereby urged to updated their account details and to check their post office boxes for mailed statement of accounts. The Rustenburg Local Municipality has engaged the services of the South African Post Office (SAPO), to mail statements to residents. We also encourage residents to be in constant liaison with their respective Ward Councillors, on the receipt of statements for updates.
Residents are further encouraged to update their contact details and preferred mail address, which is either post office box or residential address at the enquiries desk on the ground floor of Missionary Mpheni house, where statements are usually collected from.  Residents are required to produce certified copy of the ID as well as account number for the property/s to which the change of details relates.
Residents who may not have receive their statement of accounts, may call statement enquiry desk at 014 590 3382/3766 between 07:30 and 16:00 to verify their addresses as well as updated account information.

Statement on Closure of Licensing Offices on 23 & 30 March 2019

The Licensing & Testing Unit, Directorate: Public Safety wishes to issue a formal apology on the closure of licensing services on the 23 & 30 March 2019 respectively.
On the 23rd March 2019, the offices were not rendering services due of load shedding which occurred in the morning. As a result, the Licensing and Testing Unit was not operational and personnel were released from duty. On the 30th March 2019, the services were not rendered due to mandatory reconciliation as was the closure of the Financial Year 2018/19 of the North West Province traffic authorities and a system upgrade of records for the 1 April 2019 information & price changes.
The Unit communicated the closure of officers only with notices around at the centre and not through the Municipal communication channels.
