The Rustenburg Local Municipality in partnership with the Department of Labour’s Deputy Minister, Nkosi Phathekile Holomisa and the Director General, Thobile Lamati, will host a breakfast engagement session as well as take the department’s services to the people of Rustenburg, North West Province from 24 to 25 August.
During the breakfast session, aimed at addressing employment challenges in the region, the Department and the municipality will engage representatives from different stakeholders including organized employers, unions and communities.
These engagements are part of the office of the Deputy Minister and the Director General’s effort to bring services closer to communities hence the project is named “Taking Department of Labour’s services to the people”. These engagements also seek to create conducive environment for economic growth as the Department believe that a favourable environment is a catalyst for job creation.
Different stakeholders in both Private and Public sectors have been invited to work together with the Department and also assist in developing turn around strategies to increase productivity levels and job opportunities in the area.
The breakfast engagement session will be followed by delivery of a package of the Department’s services to communities in partnership with other government departments within the province.
