The interruption was due to the vandalised hydraulic valve system which is on the pipeline supplying water to Boitekong Extensions 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vandalism was due to an illegal connection into the system which ended up affecting the entire area.
The contractor is currently on site working to fixing the problem. We are confident that the contractor will complete the work successfully.
During the interruption, Water Tankers will continue to be deployed in the area for the delivery of water until the situation has been resolved.
We appeal to the community of Boitekong and surrounding areas to report vandalism.
