Residents of Wards 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 44 and 45 came in their thousands and filled the community sport grounds to capacity on Tuesday, the 15th November 2016 to listen to what their political leaders had to say to them as the whole Mayoral Committee, including Speaker of Council and Single Whip of Council, were being introduced to them and the first hundred days in office was being outlined. “We have resolved as the leadership that we are going to do things differently in the current term to ensure effective service delivery. We are starting with filling in of critical senior posts, namely; Municipal Manager, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Directors and much needed technical staff to deal effectively with burning issues of water loss, burst pipes, potholes and revenue enhancement, thus making sure that the municipality is run efficiently and effectively. I am going to request all members of the Mayoral Committee including Ward Councillors to take the podium and give you their contact numbers so that you do not struggle to access them to report your developmental challenges in your respective wards. We mean business this time around with serving you. We have made it clear to municipal employees who are not prepared to work or serve you diligently, that they are going to have to make way for others who want to serve you”, said Executive Mayor, cllr Mpho Khunou, to the roaring applause of residents from thirteen (13) wards of the municipality.
