The library provides library materials and services to meet the identified information and leisure-time need of its community.  From this follows the role of the library, namely to provide information and recreation, to cultivate a love for reading and to promote culture.

To render a dynamic library and information service to al groups in the community in order to improve their quality of life by supporting the aims of the Reconstruction and Development Programme and to supply information resources, educational media, literacy support opportunities for life-long learning, cultural expression, recreation and all other fields of human endeavor.
